Harmonies and High Tea Showcases the Power of Community Collaboration
Community collaboration, live music and meaningful connections create a memorable day for K-Life residents and the wider Killarney community.

At K-Life, we know that strong communities are built when people come together, support one another, and create opportunities for connection. Our recent Harmony and High Tea event was a wonderful example of what can be achieved when local organisations, volunteers, and community groups work together for the benefit of the community.
Delivered in partnership with the Killarney Senior Citizens Group, the event featured a beautiful piano performance by acclaimed pianist Jacob Bülow, providing a unique arts experience for both K-Life residents and members of the wider community.
The day began with a special recital for residents at K-Life Residential Aged Care. Live music has a remarkable ability to evoke memories, spark conversation, and create moments of joy. For many residents, the performance provided not only entertainment but also an opportunity to connect with others through a shared experience.
Later in the day, residents, families, volunteers and community members gathered at the Killarney Senior Citizens Hall for a community recital and high tea. The event created a welcoming space where people of all ages could come together, enjoy beautiful music, share stories, and strengthen social connections.
As communities grow and change, opportunities for social engagement become increasingly important, particularly for older people who may face barriers to participation. Events such as Harmony and High Tea help reduce social isolation, support emotional wellbeing, and foster a sense of belonging.
The success of this event highlights the value of collaboration between community organisations. By working together, K-Life and the Killarney Senior Citizens Group were able to deliver an enriching experience that benefited not only our residents but the broader Killarney community.
We extend our sincere thanks to Jacob Bülow for sharing his incredible musical talent, to the volunteers who assisted throughout the day, and to everyone who attended and helped make the event such a success.
Harmony and High Tea was proudly supported through the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF), a partnership between the Queensland Government and Southern Downs Regional Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.
At K-Life, we remain committed to creating opportunities that bring people together, celebrate community, and help everyone enjoy life.
